  • HF BUCURESTI Contest

http://www.738899.lx.ro
1. Day/Time: 3-rd Monday of March in two half-times -=- March 19, 2007
1-st half-time between 15.00-15.59 utc
2-nd half-time between 16.00-16.59 utc
2. The purpose of the contest is to promote the interest for participation in the contests for as
many as possible YO hams. This would improve the contesting skills of individual or group of operators (
from all points of view), in order to get a larger participation of YO hams in the international contests.
The voluntary limitation of transmitting power would proove the skills of operators, under such circumstances.
3. Band/Mods: 80 m CW - between 3510-3560 kHz;
SSB - between 3675-3775 kHz
4. Categories of participation: YO stations and whoever else would like to participate
A - QRP - (10W input/ 5 W output) single operator
B - LPI - Low power - single operator (up to 200 W input / 100 W output)- comercial equipments are accepted,
if 100 W output power is specified. If the equipment exceeds this level, the output power must be turned down up to 100 W.
C - LPC - Low power - one or more operators ( up to 200 W input / 100 W output)- comercial equipment is accepted,
if 100 W output power is specified. If the equipment exceeds this level, the output power must be turned down up to 100 W.
D - SWL -listeners
Note: - It is not allowed to use higher power than 200 W input / 100 W output. It is supposed that all participants
would limit their used power, in this contest. We hope everyone will proove fair-play. The abuses would lead to disqualification.
Equipment specification and used power will be mentioned in the log file (paper or digital - at <soapbox> comments on
Cabrillo files). This would be done by one's own responsibility. The missing of these information shall put that participant
on the Check Log list.
5. Exchange: RS(T) + 001 (in continuation after 1-st half-time) + 2 letters as area abreviation /XA-XF for YO3
(XA=sector 1;XB=sector 2.......XF=sector 6). Stations outside YO will send =AA= in stead of area abreviation.
6. Score: YO3 = station that transmits from Bucuresti (it can be a portable station in YO3/BU)
Stations that send =AA= will be assimilated as YO stations.
- 1 QSO YO3 - YO3 , YO - YO = 2 pts
- 1 QSO YO3 - YO , YO - YO3 = 4 pts
Listeners would claim same points for a report of two participants and their exchanged control numbers in a QSO.
7. Multiplier: every area abreviation (once per half time) + AA(only one) + every sector YO3
Note: Two contacts (one in CW and one in SSB) are permitted with a station, each half-time, ONLY on the band segment
allowed per mode. As multiplier only one contact counts.
8. Score per half-time: the sum of QSO points x multiplier per half-time.
Final score: the sum of half-time scores.
9. Logs: - Cabrillo logs would be prefered.(we recommend logging programs made by DL5MHR, YO9CWY and YO9HG)
Way of filling out: In the sent column, last 3 spaces must be filled out with serial number sent; in the rcvd column fill
out the received number. The RS(T) control must be fill out in the first 3 spaces of the sent and rcvd columns, only at
beginning of the half-time or log sheet and when changing mode.
10. Classification/prizes: Separate classification for YO3, YO and other stations (AA) for each category of participation.
First 3 classified receive awards, in case of minimum 7 entrants per category.
Special prizes can be dealt out, depending upon sponsorships.
Every entrant will receive the official classification file. In this way is necessary an avaiable address to be mentioned
on the participation file.
11. Deadline/adress: 10 days from : (March 29, for 2007)
Digital logs to: yo3jw@k.ro
Paper logs to: Fenyo Stefan Pit, CP 19-43, 033210 Bucuresti 19, Romania

logs,in case of letters (postmarks on the envelope) as well as for digital format. Any log received after deadline time will be
processed, but will be listed as CHECK LOG.
Any problem regarding this contest must be acknowledged to the organizer by letter or E-mail, to the addresses above. Deadline is

  • ES OPEN HF Championship

Dear friends and contesters,

ES OPEN HF Championship will take place next Saturday, April 15th, from 0500
to 0859 UTC on 40m and 80m! We invite you to participate in this nice small
contest. There will be many ES stations active and contest is held both in
SSB and CW.

International winners get special trophies from ERAU plus all country
winners will be awarded. There is also a special LP trophy.

NB! Log deadline is May 20th, not June 1st anymore!

Please check the results and rules from www.erau.ee:

http://www.erau.ee/modules.php?op=modload&name=Info&file=index&req=viewartic
le&artid=68

Congratulations to 2005 winners:

Category A (MIXED) - YL7X, Arvis Mikals

Category B (SSB) - OZ1ADL, Jan Thogersen

Category C (CW) - LY7M, Algirdas Uzdonas

Category D (CLUBS) - YL1S, ops YL1ZS and YL2VW

Category E (SWL) - R3A-847, Vladimir Ignatov

Special trophy to best LP station: YL2PJ, Zigurds Belasovs

Rules are very easy: the contest consists of 4 equal one hour periods where
you can work a station once on both bands. Thus 8 times maximum in total
during the contest. Foreign stations can work ES stations only and
multipliers are ES region prefixes (0 to 9) on both bands and modes. So 20
for CW/SSB and 40 for Mixed class.

CW QSOs give 2 points and SSB 1 point. Report is RST + QSO number.

Text format logs should be sent to esopen@erau.ee

You can use WPX configuration of different logging programs as ES prefixes
are all multipliers. Just have to clean dupe sheet after every hour or start
new log. TR log is easy to use, we have a sample CFG file on ERAU web page.

CU next Saturday,
